300 E. 39th St. Kansas City, MO 64111

Surrounded by 80 acres of parks, this historic building is now a progressive coworking campus and event space featuring original hardwood floors, lockers and an amazing historic theater. The former Westport Junior High School was entered into the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 2014. Here is an excerpt from that listing:

"Constructed in 1924, Westport Junior High School sits on a hill overlooking Gillham Park and the historic Hyde Park neighborhood. The five-story rectangular building with a rubble limestone foundation and a flat roofs elaborate limestone and terra cotta ornament accents on all four red brick walls. The ornament reflects a variety of architectural influences - Jacobethan strap work; Italian Renaissance arcaded windows; and Beaux Arts sculptural elements such as festoons and shields. On the interior, corridors and staircases have marble floors with marble base molding along with dark wood accents on the walls."
